They really work as advertised. A great tool to protect carbon rims.
I work as a full time Bike Coach for ZEP MTB Camps in Whistler as well as running courses for the PMBIA. I run Cushcore on all my bikes (massive thanks for the support Cushcore team!). These things are a lifesaver, timesaver and wheel saver! I find the install pretty easy even with fresh rubber. It’s a workout but it works! I can’t imagine riding without these bad boys!
What could be better than Cushcore protection but lighter weight? I purchased XC Cush for my XC rear wheels and will be installing one on my Revel Rascal carbon front wheel. I expect the same awesome performance that I have from my other Cushcore: no flats and no damage to rims despite multiple years of use/abuse, but with less weight. Couldn't be happier.
It was impossible to install. This may depend on your rims but the installation process was an absolute nightmare. You have to put a an insane amount of pressure with the tire lever to even have a chance of it going on. If you had to change your tire on a ride you would never be able to.I followed their installation video TO THE LETTER and ended up damaging an I9 enduro rim. Apparently it can take the abuse of aggressive downhill riding but not the installation of this stuff. Do yourself a favor and save your money, time and sanity! They should put a warning on this and let people know that your wheel could be ruined during installation.
Nonsense. These things are amazing for all types of riding. I'll easily forgo the absolutely minimal weight gain for the peace of mind that these things offer me. Better grip, smoother ride, and rim protection. Tokens for my tires. A must have on all my bikes.
