Customer Service and shipping/receiving lead
POSITION SUMMARY:
This critical cross-functional role is responsible for conducting Customer Service and Shipping/Receiving.
Will work directly with the Sales, Marketing, and Purchasing teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Responsible for all Customer Service channels: timely response to inquiries (email, phone, & social media). As the lead “personal interface” with consumers, will strive to provide the highest level of customer service and brand experience.
- Ensure exceptional service levels and brand experience for all inbound inquiries (email, telephone, social media, and “walk-ins”).
- Process Returns, Refunds, and Warranty Claims.
- Provide technical support to the customer (recommendations, troubleshooting, fitment, etc.).
- Periodically perform CushCore installations.
- Filter distributor, dealer, and sponsorship inquiries.
- Periodically attend trade shows/bicycle events.
SHIPPING & RECEIVING
Responsible for warehouse functions including receive and store inventory shipments, pick/pack/ship outgoing orders to individual customers, dealers, and distributors; maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Coordinate and arrange shipments via UPS, FedEx, and LTL with distributor contacts via email meeting specific packaging and labeling requirements.
- Pick, pack, and ship small parcels (USPS, UPS, and FedEx) to domestic and international customers.
- Receive, document, and store freight deliveries of new inventory.
- Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure the products delivered match the packing list.
- Identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and notify supervisor.
- Assemble distributor orders on pallets for freight transportation.
- Weigh and measure freight shipments and relay dims to sales staff.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Assist with Odoo data entry as needed.
- Responsible for coordinating van maintenance.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and bring new ideas and solutions.
- Familiarity with the bicycle/outdoor/sporting goods industry.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems a plus.
- Academic / Work Qualification: BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
PREFERRED
- Customer Service experience.
- Shipping and Receiving Experience - Understanding of LTL and e-commerce shipping and receiving processes.
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery, ideally forklift certified with experience.
- Ideal candidate will possess technical knowledge of bicycles, components, and basic bike maintenance ability (e.g. tire changes).
- Experienced mountain bike and / or gravel rider.
- Experience in a similar role within the bicycle industry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
- Standing for long periods, ability to work on your feet for 8 hours a day and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.
- Ability to work independently and safely.
COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE:
- Salary Range: $42,000 - $59,000 DOE.
- Job Type: Full Time, salaried: M-F 8:00am – 4:30pm at our Bend, Oregon Headquarters.
